The Velocity 16U girls fast pitch team placed 2nd in the USSSA East Stroudsburg tournament, Velocity is located in Springfield Twp. and Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County. The two pitchers Abby Boyer and Kim Machalette only allowed four earned runs in six games with each earning MVP honors for the East Stroudsburg tournament. Taylor DelMonte led the team with a .696 batting average for the tournament. Rachel Konowal, Kim Machalette and Emma Goodrich all had batting averages over .652. Emma Goodrich's four doubles led the team in extra base hits.Catcher Anna Blackwood stopped anyone who tried to steal a base. Kelsea Schagrin had a key winning hit in the quarterfinal game. Maria Vido, Courtney Konowal and Ryan Haney were superb defensively allowing the Velocity to have the number one seed going into the second day of competition. Brynn Riesenberg gave the team a spark, stealing four bases.
